Youth Rugby - U13 Fixtures & Reports
Chobham 2nd XV 41 – 12 Cobham 2nd XV
20th January 2008
Tries: Burne, Wickens
Conversion: Burne
The Seconds faced their toughest test in the league to date and came away with a few things to work on. Chobham made the most of a sluggish start by the away side, but Conrad Burne quickly put Cobham back into contention with an individual run from back inside his own half. Chobham always held the upper hand in the first half, but close to half time Connor Wickens powered over the try line under the posts, with Conrad converting to make the score 24-12 to the hosts.
In the second half, Cobham came out fighting, showing more passion and aggression. Although their passion and aggression wasn't converted into any points, Cobham played their best rugby in this half.
The team will learn from this defeat and will go forward here.
Number Eight Dom Hunt said after the match: "It was disappointing to loose our unbeaten record. It was a hard contest particularly in the forwards, Chobham also had an enormous centre which presented a challenge for our backs! In the second half we gave a good account of ourselves - we never gave up, I am sure the team can learn from this game and take the positives forward to next match."
