U7 MINI RUGBY REPORTS
COBHAM GALACTICS FESTIVAL 4TH NOVEMBER
Match report by Jonathan Berney
Galactics finish as Semi-finalists
The day opened with a wonderfully mild and sunny November Sunday. For all of the Galactics at Cobham U7 this was their first experience of a festival and the atmosphere was one of anticipation and excitement.

Whilst the warm up and practice sessions went ahead before the matches all of the spectators were stunned by the performance in the first game against Teddington, which demonstrated some strong skills from all the players. There were very few mistakes and some simply stunning runs from William Merry, Connor Hubbard and Daniel Craig. Cobham emerged victorious.

The Galactics repeated the feat against Sutton and Epsom in the second pool game to pass through to the semi-final with Aren Sargood demonstrating a fine try.

Cobham were matched against Old Reedonians in the semi-final and a tough game it proved to be. Cobham matched Reeds all the way through try for try. At full time the score was 6 tries each and there was a very tense moment where it was decided to go for a “Golden Try” for which both sides fought valiantly. Ultimately Cobham were defeated and despite clear disappointment, remained stoic, but proud of what had been achieved.
The three games were a fantastic display of mini rugby by the Galactics- WELL DONE!!!
