1sts win against Chobham

Six of the best from Cobham in 38-10 victory...

Cobham welcomed back a number of key players for the derby against locals Chobham.
Ed Turner returning after Long term injury at hooker, Luke Flower at Fly Half. Kevin Fisher making his first appeance of the season at centre and Billy Bates returning to the wing.  Cobham also had a change of kit with the ref asking for the team to wear the maroon shirts.

Cobham dominated the 1st half scoring 3 tries, the first from a cross field kick from Luke flower to Charlie Rooke who found him self in space as he took the ball in mid flight to score in the corner. Luke Flower converting. Cobham 7-0

With Cobham on the attack  the 2nd try was also scored by Charlie Rooke who found space to beat the Chobham defence and score again in the corner. Luke Flower again converting to put Cobham 14-0 ahead.

The 3rd try was scored out wide again this time on the other side of the pitch by Kevin Fisher and converted by Luke Flower.  The platform was being set by the forwards to allow the backs to take their opportunities. with Cobham 21-0 up at half time

Cobham started the 2nd half on the attack but an interception by by Chobham ended after a number of phases with them scoring. Chobham then also got the next score intercepting a pass as Cobham were on the attack. Score 21-10.

This gave Cobham a big wake up call and got themselves back into Chobhams half and stayed there for large chunks of the 2nd half coming away with 3 tries, two of them coming from push over tries from the scrum, Leon Van Niekerk scoring the 2 tries for the forwards.
Score 33-10.

The 3rd and final try was well worked by the backs and Charlie Rooke put Oli Brown away for the final try. Final score 38-10

This was a great boost for Cobham in what is tight contest near the bottom of the table and there were key performances by the returning players which will help this young Cobham side move forward.

Cobham welcome Hove next weekend for the rearranged fixture that could not take place before Christmas because of the snow and all are welcome for this important home match.
