JOHNSON LEADS THE WAY

This is, and will always be, a ding dong of a derby.
After 2 wins, Cobham were looking to make it 3 wins on the bounce and the Cobham supporters were not to be disappointed.
Cobham look the lead with a penalty from skipper Arran Cowell 3-0 to Cobham
With Andy Alexander injured and Richard Nunn not available Paul Mayer made his first start of the season for the 1stxv at Prop.
The pack continued the good work it has being doing over the last couple of weeks to dominate the scrum and line out.
Cobhams 1st try came in open play. With advantage and a penalty coming Luke flower attemped a drop goal which hit the cross bar which the chasing Simon Ackroyd caught to pass to Nick Sutton who beat his opposite man to score in the corner. Cobham 8-0 up.
With Cobham on the attack a high and late hit on Cobham's Scrum half Rob Kennard by the Chobham hooker saw what was going to be a yellow card become red after an exchange of words with the ref.
Cobham took the penalty kick deep into the Chobham half. Joe Goddard was again leading the line out and with Chobham off side Arran Cowell took his 2nd penalty kick Cobham 11-0.
With Cobham having a man advantage and on the attack again Cobham took ball one way then switched play through Luke Flower who is settling in well at 10 and leading the line. The Ball went through the forwards hands with Chris Gibbons giving a deft pass for Matt Johnson to run onto to score his first try.
Cobham 16-0.
Johnson was then to get his 2nd try just before half time. With the scrum dominating johnson picked up from the base of the scrum just inside the Chobham 22 and took a number of the Chobham defenders with him as he went under the posts. Arran Cowell Converted.
Cobham 23-0 at half time.
Chobham kicked the 2nd half off and pinned Cobham back in their 22.
But Cobham's defence was holding strong and from turn over ball Cobham cleared their lines.
To Chobham's Credit they were not giving up and giving Cobham a hard time as is the way in these Derby's.
With changes being made on both sides Chobham's New wing took his chance and scored in the corner.

Mat Hahn came on for Neil Smitherman who had been running himself into the ground in defence and attack and the versitile Tristan Lee moved across to tight head and Aeren young came on for Paul Mayer at Loose head.
With Cobham back on the attack and camped on the Chobham line from a scrum Cobham were rewarded a penalty try which Luke Flower Converted with Arran Cowell going off with an injury and being replaced by Chris Moreton.
Cobham 30-5
Chobham then from the restart took another opportunity to score again in the corner to take the score to 30-10.
Cobham were to have the final word and a drive by the forwards out wide put Matt Johnson over for his hat trick and with luke Flower converting the final score was 37-10.
With 3 wins on the bounce Cobham are coming together and the new combinations are finally reaping their just rewards.
Cobham have a tough match next Saturday all support is very welcome as League leaders Tonbridge Juddians come to Fairmile Lane.
