Cobham 14 - London Irish Amateur 38
On a very hot Saturday afternoon Cobham welcomed league leaders London Irish Amateur, determined to win the first home fixture of the season.

Cobham again fielding a young side with 3 more new caps. Making it 11 new players in 2 weeks.
Cobham started the brighter of the two teams, registering the first points of a match through a penalty from young fly-half Charlie Mortimer followed quickly by a try from centre Billy Bates after a turn-over and some quick hands from the Cobham backs.
Cobham scored another penalty through Charlie Mortimer and a well taken drop goal from captain Arran Cowell.

However, newly promoted Irish soon began to show why they are at the top of the league going into this match as their young but well-drilled team started to assert themselves on the match, scoring a series of penalties and 2 well worked tries.
Half time 14-14
After the break 2 early scores from Irish allowed them to take control of the match. Cobham then spent the next 20 minutes of the match camped in the Irish half but strong defence kept the young Cobham side out. It wasn't until the final minutes when Cobham were down to 14 men because of injuries that Irish were able to break out and score their final try.
After the game head coach Billy Davison reflected said "It's the first time in a very long time we have been beaten by this sort of score line at home and perhaps it wasn't an entirely fair reflection of the game. However despite going down a man we showed great determination to continue tackling and trying until the final whistle.
