    U7 MINI RUGBY REPORTS

Camberley Mini Festival 14 October  - Jets

    Report by Claire R-S

    U7 Jets win Camberley Festival!

The first match was against Sutton and Epsom, and Cobham started off how they meant to continue, with great tagging and good support play.  The result was Cobham 6 and Sutton & Epsom 1.  The tries were scored by James Gardner (2), Gwilym Bradley, Andrew McCallum, Elliott Richmond-Smith and Allesandro Nigrelli.  There were great runs made by Tom Williams, James Gardner and Elliott Richmond-Smith.

The second match was against Dorking.  This was a very close match but was won by Cobham following some good tagging.  James Gardner and Tristan Juvanon made some good moves running around the opposition.  The score was Cobham 5 Dorking 3.  The tries were scored by James Gardner (2), Tristan Juvanon (2) and Tom Williams.

The semi-final was against Effingham & Leatherhead.  The whole team showed great determination to come from behind and win by 1 try – which was scored with the last move of the match (Cobham 4 Effingham & Leatherhead 3).  There was some good passing to team mates who were in good support positions.  Allesandro Nigrelli and Ben Bayley made some good runs, with some good tagging by Adam Matthews.  The tries were scored by Andrew McCallum, Allesandro Nigrelli (2) and Ben Bayley.

The final was against Windsor.  Cobham won by four tries (Cobham 7 Windsor 3).  Again Cobham showed good determined tagging, and excellent passing and support play.  There were hat-tricks scored by Andrew McCallum and Tom Williams, and one of Tom’s tries came as a result of him running the whole length of the pitch.  Andrew McCallum created some good space for his try and there was great support from Olivia who then passed the ball to Gwilym Bradley who kept focussed to score.  The tries were scored by Andrew McCallum (3), Tom Williams (3) and Gwilym Bradley.  One bystander said “Cobham were marvellous”, and some Windsor parents commented on how good Cobham’s passing was.

We should be proud of the whole team who tried hard, encouraged each other, were well behaved and represented Cobham admirably.

I am sure the children would like to thank John for all his hard work and enthusiasm this Sunday, and all the parents who supported them to this win.
