We are approaching what, I'm sure, will be another successful season for all sections of Cobham rugby club. It promises to be a busy and exciting season for all of us, not only on the field but also off it with the development of our new club house. I believe that is vital for the health of Cobham rugby club that there are strong links between all sections of the club, and that each member feels that they have a stake in the success of all teams; from under 5s to the All Stars! Generic playing shirts, curtain raiser matches, youth coaching and the Cobham Rugby Academy have, I hope, all helped build stronger links between the senior teams and other sections of the club.

Following a tough couple of years, the senior teams are now led by a dedicated and ambitious team of coaches and managers. This team are driven by the ambition to see Cobham RFC achieve the status as one of the top London teams over the next few years. We made significant progress last year but need to continue to strive for improvement in all aspects of playing, coaching and management. Despite the fact that we have again managed to attract players with National league and Premiership experience, recruitment of players remains our key challenge. I believe a strong and improving senior club would benefit all members and sections. New players are needed every season for this to be achievable and I believe that all members should have an interest and stake in this.

To this end, I am contacting you to request some assistance for the senior section of the club.

The health and strength of the senior club is dependent on new players joining each season and I hope that a concerted campaign, assisted by all, will ensure strong teams and a strong club over future seasons.
