- Details of upcoming courses will appear here.
A Mini/Midi Referees Course will be held at Cobham RFC on advertised dates.
The course will be both classroom and pitch based and is suitable for most Mini age groups as it covers basic elements including the process of refereeing, what makes a good referee, as well as managing the contact game. This course is aimed at those individuals who will referee only the Mini Midi game*.
We need a minimum of 10 people for a course to be viable and a maximum number of 20 can attend, both nights must be attended. (We can always put on more courses if the demand is there.)
The cost of the course is £45 which must be paid up front but candidates will be refunded by the club, on completion of the course.
Prior to the course, all candidates must complete the iRB Rugby Ready programme and complete an iRB Laws Test. Both of these are done online and are easily achievable; they just take a little time. Please don’t be put off!
You will then need to download your certificates and bring them with you to the first evening of the course. (Most rugby coaches will already have completed Rugby Ready.)
Once your cheque has been received, I will send you the links for the on-line work.
If you would like to do the course, please contact me with the following ~
• Your name
• Your role (coach/manager/parent)
• Your age group(s)
• Mobile phone number (or something you answer!)
~ then send a cheque for £45 payable to “RFD Ltd” to

*A RFU ELRA Referees course (Entry Level Referees Award, which covers 15 a-side rugby) is also taking place in March. To be able to referee in Surrey RFU Festivals, you must have the ELRA qualification. ELRA qualified referees can, of course, referee mini/midi rugby.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me.
