Cobham Under 18 A
Match Report vs Warlingham - November 7th 2010
Result: Warlingham 5 pts Cobham 48 pts
The first league game of the new campaign resulted in a clinical performance from a Cobham side featuring a few late changes due to injury, sharp university bar floors, unavailability etc. The margin by 8 tries and 4 conversions to a try was completed 10 minutes after half time allowing for a free afternoon.
A new half back pairing of Sharpe (who can pass off both hands) and Burns sparked Cobham into a fluid game with Sharpe showing his recent good form in scoring 4 of the tries using his considerable pace. McCallum, Cragg and Mathews added further tries following great handling by forwards and backs and a good eye for the line. Powlson kicked his conversions well, a couple from wide out. The final try was scored by Burns following a neat break and surge to the line.
Vartevanian and Philip featured well in the forward driving play, Conor Jones ran to good effect and the support play of all the side was very good.
Our thanks to Warlingham for providing good opposition and a thoroughly enjoyable game.
